Our Story

Hi, I'm Matt,

I started Solent Beard Co. because I was genuinely fed up with beard products that promised the world and delivered nothing.

My beard's naturally coarse and does whatever it wants, and most of the oils I tried in the UK were either way too greasy, had overpowering scents, or just didn't work. So I started messing around at home, teaching myself what each ingredient actually does, and slowly figuring out blends that made my beard feel softer and behave itself.

It worked well enough that mates started asking if I could make them a bottle. That's literally how this started.

Everything's still made in small batches here on the south coast. Just me, doing it by hand. No team, no factory, just someone who gives a shit about making something that works.

What makes my stuff different

I use ingredients because they actually perform, not because they look good on a label. Emu oil, jojoba, argan — they genuinely soften coarse beards and help them sit properly throughout the day. The scents are clean and modern, not the sort that walk into a room five minutes before you do.

My main scent, Spiced Sunset, is warm and smooth. It's got that cologne vibe but dialed back so it feels more grown-up and wearable.

Why I do this

I'm not here to take on the big brands. I just want to make solid beard products for people who've tried everything and still feel like nothing actually works. If you've got a stubborn beard, I've been exactly where you are, and that's who I'm making this for.
